Commissioners Brooks and Fillios refused to give Duncan's proposed Second Amendment Sanctuary ordinance a second. Sheriff Norris said he will not allow gun confiscation period, regardless of the ordinance.
Brooks and Fillios used that to refuse to give the proposal a second.
An ordinance will be around longer than an elected commissioner or sheriff. Also, if the county manager form of government is passed then the sheriff would no longer be elected, and would be appointed by the county commissioners.
Brooks and Fillios claim to be pro-second amendment. Then why didn't they second it. Why not take the opportunity to give the sheriff an ordinance to back up his position?
