Coeur d'Alene City Council Emergency Meeting - Wes Somerton

Coeur d'Alene City Chief Criminal Deputy City Attorney Wes Somerton - "What that creates is that it helps law enforcement. I can't wear a cloth face mask, then you need to wear a shield. No one gets exempted. Because the shield isn't going to restrict or affect the breathing for legitimate or non-legitimate claims."

CDA City Council Dan Gookin responses - "Which science did you discuss to make this change?"

Wes Somerton - "I didn't discuss anything with the scientists."

Gookin - "I read that the CDC said facemarks are not effective."

Somerton - "That's fine. I am not here to talk about CDC findings."

Gookin - "So this is all for show."

Somerton - "That is for you to make the determination."
